CROSS CANADIAN RAGWEED - DIARIES

Tuesday, April 25, 2006

Once again it's been too long since I have written, but it's been a while since I've been out on the road too. I flew in to Kansas City, MO Sunday morning to meet up with the boys. I've been dying to see a show with them and Robert Earl Keen because they are so excited to be on tour with him. Got to the bus and we went for some sushi down the road from the club with Brian and his family. Good sushi, but definitely not the best. After lunch we walked around a bit and hit a couple shops – then stumbled in to a tattoo parlor. Ended up getting a tat with Brian's dad, Big Brian. He got his family brand and I paid tribute to the new addition to our family. Now I am proudly wearing a couple of hearts and “Dierks Cobain” on my left arm. Once we were all tatted up we went back to the venue to get ready for the show. The show that night was amazing. The guys were having a blast and so was everyone in the crowd. For their last song they did REK's “Lonesome Feeling” and he joined them on stage – super cool – I had goose bumps through the whole song. REK's set rocked as usual and the guys got up to jam with him at the end of our set. The artist that did my tattoo (and a few of Bert's) came to the show. If you are ever in Kansas City and want a tat go to Freaks and ask for Chris Ahler. He does great work. I turned in early because I had been up since 5:00am and the guys went over to an Irish pub with Robert Earl and his guys for a nightcap.

The next morning we were in Conway, AR not really sure what to expect. Never been to Conway, AR. The weather was a little unstable for my liking, but it was a cool set up. The show was with Big D (Dierks) tonight and the guys were pumped because they hadn't played with Dierks in quite a while. They spent the majority of the day gaming via a wireless connection with Dierks and his guys in a very serious Halo 2 show down. In the end our guys were victorious, winning the vast majority of the games. The crap talking back and forth was unbelievable; they take this stuff VERY serious people. I will send pictures to post when I get home.

Also, be sure to stop by the photo gallery for some new photos direct from us to you.
