So this is more of a vent then a diary entry. Cody (and Drew Brown - now with Ingram) came up with the idea for Hangover Ball in 2000 or 2001 and we started doing it at the Blue Light in Amarillo on Jan 1. We've had it at the Wormy Dog in OKC for the last few years and, of course, it's on again this year. SO - why the F do they, all the sudden, have one at the freaking Tumbleweed in Stillwater???? Seriously, can you not be original and actually create something of your own?

I started working at the Wormy Dog in Stillwater back in 94 or 95 and they have been doing this shit since back then. First they hate us, then they love us. In the beginning we couldn't PAY to get a gig there and, after working our asses off, to get established they want to act like they supported us all along?? BULLSHIT!!!! Even after we move the Dog 80 miles away they still have their noses in our business.

Okay - I had to get that off my chest. Sorry if anyone is offended; sometimes I have that effect on people.

Hey Guys, Cody here.

We are terrible about keeping up with this, but I am trying to be better. Pretty much the same old same old our here making music and welcoming babies. Charley Dale Cross arrived on Monday, November 12th and she is as pretty as the day is long. Congrats to Robin, Grady and Slaid.

Thanks for your support on Mission California. I think it's my favorite so far - very personal. As always we will take some time off for the Holidays to be with our wonderful advancing babies, then it's back to the battle field in this war of music.

We finally have complete confirmation that the Black Crowes will be joining us this year at the Family Jam in OKC and The Red Dirt Round Up in Ft. Worth!!!! How exciting is that? The guys are super pumped about it.

Another hotel room, another night off. Gearing up for Circus Meximus with our friends Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers. We've been friends with these guys for a few years now, but fans longer. Roger and the boys played our Family Jam last year and Roger asked us to pay back the favor and cometo Mexico, don't ask us twice! A day of music, booze and beach...we're there. I'll let you know how it went.

It seems like we're Cali natives - we've been there more than at home this year. Which is fine with me, I love it. Besides the gigs we spent 25 days in a San Diego studio - that's about 12 more days than we're used to. 15 songs, one old one that's California related and PLato finally sang a song. He sings his bass playing ass of - I love em. Our part is done, now its just playing tha waiting game. We've heard it a thousand times and now er're ready for you to hear it.

Our Family Jam and Red Dirt Round Up line ups are coming together. As soon as we can we'll tell you.

For now its sleep before sun in Mexico.

We made it through another weekend...damn wild night in Austin on Friday. It was great to see you Cheryl. I can't believe the rain actually held out for the show - here begins the festival season and wishful thinking for good weather in Texas. Chilifest was good from what I hear. After Ragweed's set I had to rest : )

Well, now that I have this blog/post deal figured out I can post more often. What an age we live in! The album is in the can kids, well without the mixing and mastering which we stil lhave to do. And we haven't even started on the artwork or the liners so it will still be a while before we can say that its actually finished. But we do have 15 songs tracked and ready to go.
